Friends of Fawnskin (FoF) is a coalition of local residents and visitors of Fawnskin, California, along with individuals and groups throughout Big Bear Valley, the San Bernardino Mountains and Southern California who have come together to accomplish a mutual goal for the benefit of all concerned. By educating our members and the public about the impact of humans and development on the local environment, we help to preserve the natural environment for future generations.

Advisory Committ 

An Advisory Committee of local property owners evaluates issues and develops, by consensus, recommendations for actions most appropriate and effective in maintaining the character of Fawnskin and the surrounding areas. The Committee members consist primarily of professionals from a variety of fields, including specialists in: environmental law, county and local law, air quality, biological resources, Federal and State environmental processes.

Roman Silberfeld, managing partner of the LA office of the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi, is a resident of Fawnskin, an activist in environmental and consumer causes, and Chairman of the nonprofit San Bernardino National Forest Association.

Bob Drake, resident of Fawnskin since 1974 and long-time watchdog for the community, was with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for 4-1/2 years before being elected and serving for 20 years as the Judge in Big Bear.

Todd Murphy, full-time Fawnskin resident, Fawnskin representative on Bear Valley Municipal Water District Board, previous MARTA board member, past mayor and City Councilman of Yorba Linda, retired teacher and OCTA executive.
